You will not be able to discover all the region’s secrets in a single holiday! With over 1,000kms of paths for walkers, which include thermal paths, geo-trails, long distance hikes, paths to the mountain summits, rock climbs, rambling circuits, paths in to neighbouring Italy – you will find everything here! 

If you prefer walking in a group, then the family Schluga and their team can offer a varied programme to see and discover the surrounding mountains, and to admire the breathtaking alpine panorama.

Wanderungen

>> Mountain tours for beginners

designed to suit the season, commencing normally weekly from 1st May. On these tours we will ascend mountains in the Gail or Carnic groupings. Our programme also covers mountains in Friuli (Italy) and Julian Alps (Slovenia).

Examples: Lesser Pal, Cima di Terra Rossa, Zottachkopf, ... 

Wanderungen mit Erich

>> Rambling with Erich

are weekly. He takes our guests up into the mountains in the Gail, Gitsch and Lesach valleys, the Weissensee lake and lake Pressegger.. These especially geared for all the family, unless your doctor has stated otherwise!

Examples: Gartnerkofel, Hochwipfel, Hochwarter heights, ...

Mittagskogel

>> Mountain tours for experienced enthusiasts

These tours will ascend the higher peaks in Gail and Carnic alps. From August we will also ascend the impressive rock summits in the Julian Alps (Slovenia + Friuli Julian Venetien). You need to be fit and able, and you will be required to have the proper equipment ; rock climbing kit, safety helmet etc. 

Examples: Spitzegelgrat, Reiskofel, Trogkofel, Jiof di Montasio, Prisojnik, Spik, ... 




Our recommendation:
Join a mountaineering or Alpin Association or similar institution and take the benefit of their recovery costs in case of rescue!
