The beautiful Gailtal valley offers many opportunities for activities such as cycling, mountain biking, motorbike riding, hiking, climbing, SUP on the lake or long walks. Here is a brief overview of activities in the Nassfeld-Pressegger See region.

Cycling

The Nassfeld-Lesachtal-Weißensee region is particularly suitable for guests who want to explore the surrounding area and nature by bike without too much effort. There are more than 100 km of flat, mostly asphalted cycle paths in the Gail and Gitsch valleys, which lead through forests or along rivers and take you to dreamy villages. Our Apartments Schluga are located directly on the so-called Gailtal cycle path R3 and are therefore the ideal starting point for exploring.

Mountainbiken

Do you want to spend your holiday doing sports and getting to know the country and its people? Then mountain bike tours in our region are just the thing for you. Recharge your batteries on the numerous routes and then reward yourself with a stop at one of the mountain huts in our region. Whether beginner or advanced - there is a wide range of varied tours. Mountain bikes can be hired in the Bike Paradise near Hermagor.

Good to know:

We do not offer guided cycle or mountain bike tours - but we are happy to provide plenty of tips.

mountaineering & hiking

One holiday is not enough to explore the more than 1000 km of hiking trails in our region. Whether it's themed trails, long-distance hikes, summit tours, climbing adventures - there's something for everyone.
For beginners:
Kleiner Pal, Cima di Terra Rossa, Zottachkopf.
For families:
Gartnerkofel, Hochwipfel, Hochwarter Höhe.
For advanced hikers
(often with climbing equipment):
Summit tours in the Gailtal and Carnic Alps, from August also in the Julian Alps, such as Spitzegelgrat, Reiskofel, Trogkofel, Jiof di Montasio, Prisojnik, Spik.

for all climbing enthusiasts

Norbert Schluga via ferrata: 400 metres in altitude to conquer.
Oberst Gressel Gedenkweg: accessible from the Plöckenpass, for advanced climbers.
Ferrata Senza Confini: can be combined with the Oberst Gressel Gedenk Weg.
Winkelturm-Ostgrat: challenging via ferrata at Nassfeld.
Ferrata Crete Rosse: south ascent of the Trogkofel, for experts.
Däumling: near the Gartnerkofel on the Nassfeld. The use of rope bridges makes it the perfect via ferrata for adventurers.

Good to know:

We recommend taking out a membership with the Alpine Club or a similar organisation in order to be covered for rescue costs in the event of an emergency!

Motorcycling in Carinthia

A paradise for all motorcyclists! The nearby valleys such as the Drau, Gitsch and Lesach valleys offer plenty of variety and within a few kilometres you can reach East Tyrol, South Tyrol, Italy and Slovenia.

The motorbike paradise of Carinthia offers plenty of routes between the mountains and the warmest bathing lakes in Austria. A tour around our apartments pays off!
